This original Victorian cast iron mantelpiece features some impressive Gothic style turrets supporting the undulating mantel. The curving mantel echoes the turrets.

Below the mantel, a run of ornate pointed gothic arches decorates the frieze. The insert features an rounded arch with icanthus leaf detailing. The grate and footblocks also include some ornate detailing.

This decorative and finely detailed cast iron fireplace was originally from a bedroom of a Dublin house. Today, it would make a handsome addition to a living or sitting room.

This two-piece mantelpiece and insert is shown here with an original period surround. This type of fireplace would normally be installed with a slate hearth.
